Washington, DC– This week Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D–Ore) was assigned to
the Committee on Budget as well as the following Ways and Means subcommittees:
the Subcommittee on Trade and the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures.
Congressman Blumenauer is a seventh-term Congressman and former member of the
Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the International Relations
Committee.
“I am excited by these new Committee assignments and look
forward to working hard to balance fiscal discipline with some of the most
important domestic issues facing families – from healthcare to Social Security
to energy policy. With more than a decade of experience in the House, and with
the new opportunity to serve on two key subcommittees, I will remain committed
to ensuring Oregon’s families are safe, healthy and economically
secure.”
Also joining Congressman Blumenauer on the Budget Committee is
Congresswoman Darlene Hooley (D-Ore) and Congressman Brian Baird (D-WA),
signaling the growing influence of the Northwest Delegation in the 110th
Congress.
