The Food and Farm Act
Press Release - Bill Highlights - Bill Text - Forum - Report
Americans deserve a better Farm Bill. Current federal agricultural policy spends an exorbitant amount of taxpayer dollars to subsidize only a handful of large-scale, commodity farmers at the expense of the small and mid-sized farmers and ranchers who produce a diverse array of products. When the Farm Bill expires in 2018, Congress must do better. Americans deserve a bill that resets spending priorities, promotes healthy food, and provides innovative, performance-based solutions to environmental challenges.
Introduced by Representative Blumenauer, the Food and Farm Act is comprehensive legislation that refocuses federal resources on those who need it most, fosters innovation, encourages investments in people and the planet, and ensures access to healthy foods. This legislation is the result of Blumenauer’s Sing Your Own Farm Bill project, a multi-year effort engaging a wide variety of stakeholders to create a more visionary, equitable, and cost-effective Farm Bill.
