As the coronavirus reaches Oregon, stay safe with the latest information

March 5, 2020

Our country is facing a dangerous outbreak of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. The disease has now made its way to Oregon, with three known cases of infection so far. I strongly urge people to be extremely cautious as public health officials work to keep the disease under control.

In Congress, we are taking steps to provide the resources necessary to treat those infected and prevent further impact. This week, the House is expected to pass a funding package that will provide at least 6 billion dollars in aid to fight this pandemic, more than double what the Trump administration proposed.

The health and safety of communities in Oregon's third district is extremely important to me, so I've created an information page on my website that answers your questions and provides resources to keep you and your loved ones safe. I strongly recommend following all advice and guidance from state and federal health officials to minimize risk. As things continue to develop, please don't hesitate to contact my office and keep updated on my website.
