Outraged, but not surprised

I'm outraged, but unfortunately not shocked, at 45's (I refuse to refer to him as the president) latest abhorrent comments about the freshman "squad" of Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.

In my opinion, 45 has a long history of shameful commentary, but to suggest that these four impressive women, who were legitimately and duly elected to serve the residents of their districts in Congress, are not American is a new low.

But outrage is not enough. I'm an original cosponsor of the House Resolution condemning these disgusting and vile comments from the president. It shouldn't stop there either. The Mueller report was clear—it's more important now than ever to open an inquiry into impeachable offenses by the president. Months ago, I joined Congresswoman Tlaib in calling for an official impeachment inquiry.

I believe 45's racism is unacceptable and can not be tolerated. Working with these young and dynamic women in Congress has been inspiring. I will continue working with them to push forward our progressive agenda, despite 45's deplorable behavior.

Courage,

Earl
