Today was a MAJOR victory

A year ago, we developed a blueprint to reform our nation's cannabis laws during this Congress, and now, with Democrats in control of the House of Representatives, we are seeing our blueprint in action.
The House of Representatives just passed the SAFE Banking Act, legislation to allow state-legal cannabis industry to access banking services, by a bipartisan vote of 321-103. You can click the image below to watch my remarks on the House floor.
While there is much to celebrate in our fight toward ending prohibition, we are far from being done.
Our movement has reached its crest. The majority of Americans agree that the failed prohibition of cannabis has negatively impacted countless lives. Whether it be because of the need for courageous veterans to access the benefits of medical cannabis to treat PTSD and other chronic illness, or reversing decades of horrific injustice which has harmed communities of color through unequal application of the law, it is clear—federal cannabis laws must change.
Comprehensive cannabis reform legislation to decriminalize cannabis at the federal level is on the horizon. Congress is out of step with the American people, and we must continue the fight.
